Why is it that the guys who were trying to pull the ladder from under you were sweating it out are their friend when you reach the goal they vainly tried to upset?

Why is it that some guys never seem to hear opportunity knocking but are always knocking those who answer the call?


Why is it that certain guys are always seeking advice, but if the advice given is contrary to their own preconceived notion of what the advice should be they will turn a deaf ear to the counsel given?
Some guys have that faculty of knowing more how another person will react to certain comments than the person in question knows himself. Why is it?


Why is it that certain palookas will think the worst about another person regardless of the evidence to the contrary? Once these giant pin heads make up their minds that such-and-such is the case there is no turning back.
It is strange indeed that some guys who make it a habit to kick the man who is down will invariably find that when they themselves are down there is always someone eager to lend them a helping hand. Why is it?
After waiting around for what seems like a dog's age before a waitress recognizes your presence, why is it that when she finally arrives at your table she expects you to shoot your orders to her at jet-propelled speed? From her pained expression you might think that she is standing on red hot coals skin deep and that unless your orders are given her immediately she will fry!
